Dr. Karen Vieira is a distinguished scientist and entrepreneur with a diverse academic and professional background in biomedical sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Florida College of Medicine, complemented by a Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology. Her extensive expertise spans clinical research, biotechnology, and molecular biology.
Early in her career, Dr. Vieira worked in hospitals and clinics, conducting clinical research directly with patients. She then transitioned to biotechnology laboratories, where she focused on understanding the biochemistry and molecular biology of living systems, including humans, animals, and microorganisms. Her research in these areas provided valuable insights into the complex interactions within biological systems, laying a foundation for her future endeavors.
Dr. Vieira also worked in the food industry with one of America’s largest food companies. In this role, she researched ingredients for food and supplements, exploring their potential benefits for various health conditions. During her time in the industry, she pioneered a groundbreaking cell culture research project aimed at discovering novel food ingredients to promote health and wellness. This innovative approach enabled the identification and prioritization of emerging ingredients based on scientific evidence.
In 2007, Dr. Vieira transitioned to entrepreneurship, founding her company, The Med Writers. Driven by her passion for educating people on health and medical topics, she built a team of skilled writers and consultants who share her mission. The Med Writers specializes in creating scientifically accurate and accessible content, helping clients convey complex health information to a broad audience.
