Caffrey, can you start off by telling us about yourself and why you chose entrepreneurship?

Growing up, I watched my parents create and direct various small businesses. The rewards for extensive effort and hard work were great but did not lack in trials and tribulations along the way. Despite the ups and downs, they were set to achieve the successes they desired. Seeing their work ethic and determination, I felt called into entrepreneurship myself. It gives you the ability to create something that can impact people on a local and global scale.

Can you tell us what drives you to be successful as a leader and entrepreneur?

My driving force is the ability to help other small business owners achieve success by guiding them on how to close more sales. I want to give them the power to make their own businesses thrive and help them reach their financial goals.

Tell us about your role and your vision of YouEarn for the next 5 years.

My goal is to increase small business owners’ rate of success. As the CEO of YouEarn, my role is to drive the company’s profitability. I firmly believe that by putting the focus on our customers, we will continue to drive our own success.

My vision for YouEarn is to ensure the longevity of small businesses through training and support. We will focus primarily on solving the three main struggles the majority of small business owners face: closing sales, stable funding, and generating sales leads.

YouEarn will provide our clients with the training they need to close on their sales leads. We will give them advice on finding the funding sources they need to keep their businesses alive and offer access to advertising coaches. These coaches will aid in their success, which allows us to supply them with the best service suitable to their needs.

What’s the one or two accomplishments that you’re proud of?

One of my greatest accomplishments was graduating from Oglethorpe University and attaining my BA in Business. I also hold the record for winning the most tennis matches in one calendar year. As a third, and equally important accomplishment, I have created several successful businesses.

What advice do you have for other up-and-coming young entrepreneurs?

As starting a business is expensive, keeping your current job as you build your new business is imperative to help make ends meet. Understanding your business finances is vital so it is important to have a finance plan least one year before you go to market.

Navigating the business world alone is no easy task. Hire a business advisor who specializes in the business you are creating. They can teach you how to generate leads through online paid advertising or point you to an agency that can do this on your behalf.

Your product or service must solve one big problem your market is currently looking to solve. Be sure your message reflects how your product resolves that problem.

Are you active on social media professionally?  If so, what platforms work best for engaging your followers?

We are active on social media. However, it is simply a point of viewability, and trust as opposed to engagement. We focus more on paid advertising methods to drive our company forward.

What is the major difference between being an entrepreneur and working in marketing?

Typically, whatever I do and build is my content, unless I sell it. Working in marketing is all about helping build others’ brands, helping sell other people and companies’ products and services.

Who was your biggest influence?

My parents have always been my biggest influence. I had the opportunity to see first-hand the work ethic, diligence, and integrity it takes to grow a business. By watching them, I was able to learn what it truly means to own a business and sustain it.

What is the most challenging part of your work as a CEO?

TWe must always be ahead of growth. In my position, I ensure that we are hiring and training the right people before we hit the next growth level. Having a functional, cooperative team with exceptional skillsets and work ethic is what drives a business forward.

What do you have your sights set on next?

Our focus will be serving our customers. We want to bring them onto our platform so they can build confidence as a business owner and gain the knowledge necessary to follow leads and turn them into sales.

What is a day in your life like?

Working into the launch of our company and the days that follow, I have operated around the clock to reach deadlines and bring our platform to our customers. It is full of meetings, correspondence, and communicating with our team members, but the work put in is worth it.

Do you have any hobbies?

Beyond the scope of building my business I enjoy playing tennis and going to the gym. While I have not been able to enjoy my hobbies as frequently in the past year due to the nature of kickstarting the company, my hope is that I will be able to return them to my schedule in the coming months.

What makes you smile?

When others become successful by using the YouEarn platform. I want to see my business grow alongside our customers’ businesses, and seeing the mutual benefit unfold is beyond satisfying.

What are you never without?

I’m never without my pen, some paper, and my laptop. I also always keep my coconut water on hand; it’s my drink of choice.

What scares you?

Not going fast enough. Several aspects of our company require a pace that puts us ahead of growth so we can prepare for what comes next. If we fall behind it could affect not only us, but the clients who rely on our knowledge and training to strengthen their own businesses.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Gulf Shores is my favorite vacation spot, and much like a second home. There is a plantation in Gulf Shores that my family owns, and we would go there every summer.
