Well, good afternoon, Diane Marie. Welcome to the show.

[00:01:07] Diane Marie Pisera: Thank you so much for having me.

[00:01:09] Brian Thomas: Absolutely. Love this. Love jumping out of bed. Like I say, every podcast meeting someone new today, Diane Marie, you’re amazing, and I appreciate you hailing out of the great state of New York. And we’re going to jump right into these questions because we want to get your story out to our audience here. Diane Marie, you’ve got quite the career in marketing, public relations, product development. You’re an entrepreneur and now the founder and host of the Passport to Thrive podcast.

Could you share with our audience the secret to your career growth and what inspires you?

[00:01:42] Diane Marie Pisera: So, my inspiration honestly comes from my background. For anyone that doesn’t know me. I’m an immigrant. I came from Italy when I was nine years old, and my inspiration really is. Living up to the American dream.

It’s something that I still believe in very much. And I have seen my mom’s struggle through the years. My mom and I moved when I was nine years old. So that sense of duty for success and for building my reputation is very strong to me. Because in my head, I have to live up to the sacrifice of that were made for me to have a better future. So that is ultimately where I got a lot of my drive and inspiration.

[00:02:27] Brian Thomas: I love that. And we’ve got so many people. I mean, our country, here in the United States is a story of the immigrant, right? At some point, just about everybody came across the boat or flew over or whatever. But that’s amazing.

I love the story and the fact that you’re going to really dive in and show your mother and pay your mother back, right? That you’re going to succeed in the great land of opportunity. So, I love the story really, really do. So Diane Marie as a podcast host myself, I’m always interested in what other hosts are doing.

I’ve listened to a couple of your episodes, love your format. What made you decide to jump into podcasting?

[00:03:03] Diane Marie Pisera: I honestly love podcasts and love to listen to podcasts myself. And I’ve been listening to a couple of my favorite podcasts for the last two or three years. And it started out by me listening when I was in the car, because I wanted to make my commute a little bit more useful.

So I felt like if I was learning something, then it would benefit instead of me just listening to music or spacing out. So, I decided to get into podcasts. And I honestly love that people were sharing free education on different platforms. So that’s when I really fell in love with podcasting. And I’ve also had a presence on social media. And sometimes it can get a little frustrating when you are trying to share so much content, but you’re stuck doing it in such a little caption or a short-term video. Like you are not really allowed to have a longer form of content unless you produce YouTube videos, a podcast or a blog post.

Because I love podcasting. I want to give my own spin. and give it a try. So that’s how I really got into podcasting. And for the format, I noticed that a lot of podcasts are longer and I personally enjoyed more of a shorter form podcast because I felt like even if you were driving 15 20 minutes, you could get through an entire episode, while if the episode is, for example, an hour, and your drive is only 20 minutes, you would have to pause and then restart the podcast so that kind of bothered me when I listened to longer form episodes. So, when I decided to launch my own podcast, I decided that my episodes would be more short and sweet and to the point.

[00:04:52] Brian Thomas: That’s awesome. I love the fact that you decided to better yourself by listening to podcasts versus the radio. And sometimes the radio is good because you get kind of into your groove for the workday.

But I love the fact that you are going after the soundbite and that’s what’s been so popular with our podcast here is people love the soundbite. I actually had a CEO out of Silicon Valley tell me he listens to my podcast in between meetings, and I thought that. But that was a compliment for sure.

So thank you for sharing Diane Marie. That’s awesome. Diane Marie, are you leveraging any new or emerging technologies in your business? And I ask that because we are a tech platform. I’m a techie. I’m a technology executive. if you’re not leveraging that, maybe you found a cool tool or app you might share with our audience tonight.

[00:05:36] Diane Marie Pisera: Yeah, so I actually just did a whole episode and a workshop on artificial intelligence, and I have found that it has a lot of really good tools to market it, to help market your business. And a lot of people struggle with marketing their business, and they feel like they need to be in all different platforms at the same time.

And I have found that there’s a couple really good tools, like Zapier, for example, that helps streamline the process of your marketing. And it can be used for other industries as well, but I personally use it for marketing, but it helps. streamline just the process, getting leads, pushing out your social media content to different platforms.

So I found that one to be very good. I’ve also found Cast Magic to be really good for podcasting. So, if there’s any other fellow podcasters who are listening to this, I would highly recommend Cast Magic. And ChatGPT. It’s not a new one. I feel like a lot of people use it, but it really is a good tool to help with any copy or heavy written content.

I use it a lot for my newsletter. It was something that I wanted to be a little bit more present on is email newsletter, and I always struggled because it was always one of the things that was pushed back and with ChatGPT I feel like I’m able to also be on top of my newsletter.

[00:07:03] Brian Thomas: Thank you. That’s awesome. You brought together several tools there that I know a lot of people leverage today, but there’s a lot of people in our audience that may not have heard some of these tools, obviously chat GPT. I’m sure everybody’s heard at this point, but I really do appreciate that. And like you, I automate a lot of things so that I can stay ahead of all the other work that needs to get done as far as running a podcast.

So thanks again. Diane Marie last question here this evening, can you elaborate more on your consulting business that helps entrepreneurs use their personal brand to scale their business?

[00:07:37] Diane Marie Pisera: Yeah, so I feel like there’s a lot of talk on personal brand on the online space, and I personally have my personal brand on Instagram, especially, and also on LinkedIn, and the opportunities that come from that are.

There’s a very wide range of opportunities. I you got to meet a lot of really cool people, and it’s a great tool to network and meet new people. And if I didn’t have a personal brand, and if I wasn’t so open on social media, I don’t think I would have gotten all these opportunities. So I think it helps you really build a good network of people.

And it also helps to be top of mind to any of your clients or potential clients. So, if you’re selling, I don’t know, a nutrition course, for example, and you have a personal brand that you’re constantly keeping up with and posting and sharing more on social media, if someone is looking for that service, they will immediately.

think of you just because they’re constantly seeing your content being out there. And also with personal branding, I love it because everyone has a different story. Everyone has different values. And this is what ultimately is going to differentiate you from everybody else that is already creating content. At the end of the day, no one has the exact same story. No one has the exact same way of doing things and how I do things and how I speak may resonate with some people and may not resonate with some other people. So that is the power really of personal branding. I feel like when you connect with someone with your story and your values, you are ultimately going to have a deeper impact on that client.

[00:09:19] Brian Thomas: Thank you for sharing that. And you’re absolutely right about personal branding. Obviously, people trust people and when they get to know that person, they will actually interact by or do business with them versus a company name. I really do appreciate that, and I appreciate the consistency because I see you out there quite a bit on social and you’re very consistent with your messages and the content you’re pushing out.

So we appreciate it. And I certainly feel like I have trust in you now, after all the content that I’ve seen over the last several weeks. So thanks again, Diane Marie. Absolutely. Diane Marie, it was a pleasure having you on today and I look forward to speaking with you real soon.

[00:09:57] Diane Marie Pisera: Thank you so much.

[00:09:58] Brian Thomas: Bye for now.
