[Q U I C K   N O T E S]

Perrine, can you start off by telling us about yourself and why you chose technology and the Human Capital profession?

I have worked for over a decade with organizations in London, including Facebook, PagerDuty, Pivotal, AvePoint and Nlyte Software.

As a woman in technology, I often felt excluded from the important conversations at work and I felt like my voice was not being heard.

I made it my personal mission to empower leaders to leverage diversity and inclusion as their secret competitive advantage. I believe that by making everyone feel included and feel like they have a voice, organizations can become market leaders and achieve success.

I believe that my personal experience of exclusion at work can serve as an example for leaders to understand how inclusion and diversity can be their greatest advantage to succeed. I believe that the world needs more inclusive and diverse cultures, to build new products and services that reflect the diversity of the entire population.

Can you tell us what drives you to be successful as an entrepreneur?

I am very passionate about building inclusive workplaces that cultivate employee engagement, retention, productivity, profitability, innovation and business growth because I never experienced that myself and I believe there is a better way of working. I strongly believe that the world needs more diverse and inclusive workplaces to build new products and services that reflect the diversity of the population. This drives me to be successful in my business.

Tell us about your role and your vision of your company.

I am the founder so I am responsible for running the business! My vision is to work with more organizations and share the success stories to reach more professionals in need of creating a more inclusive work environment. As we scale as a business, we will be able to offer more services to our customers and become strategic business partners.

What’s the one or two accomplishments that you’re proud of?

I am proud of being a female entrepreneur whilst also being a mum of two young children. I am proud to be a role model for all the women and mothers who doubt their abilities to run a successful business.

I am also proud of my career in Technology, which was a great learning curve for me as a professional.

What advice do you have for other up-and-coming young entrepreneurs in Technology?

My advice is to do your market research before you start. What I mean by that is to focus on the problem, not the solution. Often, entrepreneurs fall in love with their business/services, so much so that they ignore it if it doesn’t fix the real problem. Focus on the problem you are trying to solve.

Are you active on social media professionally?  If so, what platforms work best for engaging your followers

I am very active on social media professionally. LinkedIn is a great platform for me because it is targeting professionals, which is my audience. Having said that, I am also  very active on all other mainstream social media platforms because it is important to be seen everywhere and different people prefer different platforms.

What is the major difference between working at a tech company and what you do now as a Human Capital consultant?  Any comparison?

The major difference is that I am my own boss! I am in complete control of my time as well as what I choose to focus on. This gives me tremendous satisfaction and responsibility. I am very intentional with how I spend my time, being my own boss.

Who was your biggest influencer?

Richard Branson is a big influencer. He is a self-made entrepreneur who started from scratch and never took “no” as an answer. He embraced his failures and never stopped working to create a successful business. He is also very honest, transparent, which is very refreshing in a world of politically correct establishment in business.

Prioritizing is one of the most challenging part of my work as a founder. I could spend hours each day doing some work that is helpful yet not important. It is easy to spend time doing some work that is not business critical. Learning how to prioritize’ every day is key to success, in my experience.

What do you have your sights set on next?

As mentioned earlier, I want to diversify the range of services I offer to my customers. I want to work very closely with my existing clients to understand what else they need to create inclusive teams and build these services for them. It is important to offer different products and services that can be used in different ways and at different times, to really help fix the problem of disengaged teams, disconnected employees, etc…

What is a day in your life like?

I start very early, I go through my emails, I prepare my meetings of the day. I always make some time for a workout. At some point I dress up the kids and drop them off to nursery and school. At the end of the day, I pick up the kids and prepare dinner with the family. I try to spend some quality time with my kids in the evening before bedtime.

What makes you smile?

A heartfelt message from a dear friend, a message of support from my family and friends, this goes a long way!
