PAC Protocol notes in the LinkedIn Profile:
Before we get technical, I will say imagine a world without paper (fiat) money. We live in one now. What makes the money in your bank worth something and usable? You can go online and buy things without paper money. You can do this because your money is digitally stored in a bank on ‘their’ ledger. The bank does not put your money in a safety deposit box and wait for you to spend it, but they do put that money into a digital ledger you can view online. No matter how hard you try, when you spend your money, essentially you are asking credit card companies to withdraw the money from your bank account and then send your money to the Merchants bank account (digitally). When you check your account, 5 dollars/euros is gone.
