Ian L. Paterson is the CEO of Plurilock.
Ian L. Paterson is an entrepreneur with more than 10 years of experience in leading and commercializing technology companies focused on data analytics and machine learning. Ian has raised over $15M in private and public financing, completed mergers and acquisitions across North America and Asia, and is co-inventor of three patents. As CEO of Plurilock, Ian Paterson successfully built and grew Plurilock, leading to its successful listing on the TSX Venture Exchange.
Previously Paterson served as founder and CEO of data monetization platform Exapik (acquired), and as Director of Insights for Terapeak (acquired), a venture-backed analytics firm. Paterson is a regular speaker, media commentator, and active angel investor.
The Plurilock website explains that it was founded in 2016 as a result of groundbreaking academic research that created a novel technique for authenticating a person’s identity using behavioral biometrics. This breakthrough provided distinctive, radical benefits over traditional biometric technologies. The researchers applied this new “behavioral-biometric” science to the movements involved in mouse and keyboard activity. By observing this motion over time, the technology could continuously confirm identity.
