Berk Yilmaz is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Noah Labs, where he is building Sentinel, an AI-native IDE designed for secure, regulated, air-gapped, and mission-critical software environments. His work sits at the intersection of agentic software engineering, legacy code modernization, AI systems, formal verification, compliance tooling, and aerospace-grade software reliability. At Noah Labs, Berk leads product and engineering architecture for a secure development platform that includes AI-assisted migration pipelines, deterministic audit trails, agent runtimes, compliance automation, formal verification integrations, and cross-platform desktop deployment.
Berk holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, where he focused on Data-Driven Analysis and Computation, and dual undergraduate degrees from New Jersey Institute of Technology and Istanbul Technical University. He graduated magna cum laude from NJIT and top of his department at Istanbul Technical University. He has also served as a Teaching Assistant for Columbia University’s graduate-level Big Data Analytics course, supporting students in machine learning workflows, distributed computing, and data engineering.
Berk is also a NASA L’SPACE NPWEE winning team member and co-founder of SPACECO, a NASA-supported space construction technology project focused on cold welding applications for on-orbit assembly. His broader research and technical interests include AI agents, secure software engineering, code modernization, hardware-aware machine learning, mission-critical AI systems, and the future of intelligent developer tools.
