Vince Gaydarzhiev is the Founder and President of Alcatraz AI, a global provider of frictionless, AI-powered biometric access control solutions revolutionizing security through facial authentication. With over 10 years of technology engineering experience, Vince continues to lead Alcatraz AI with pioneering biometric authentication and security solution advancements, driven by his passion for leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance safety and efficiency.
Vince’s interest in building technology solutions to help people in their daily lives took root in his childhood, when he received his first computer at age 12. Originally from Bulgaria, Vince Gaydarzhiev came to the U.S. to perfect his English and pursue an American education. After graduating, he made the decision to stay for college, and went on to study for a bachelor’s and advanced degrees at Stanford University. His choice to leave a PhD program and to instead pursue a master’s degree was driven by a desire to apply real-world impact with his inventions, leading to career-changing roles at major companies like NVIDIA and Apple.
Prior to founding Alcatraz AI, Vince’s first post-graduate job was as a Hardware System Engineer at NVIDIA, working on multimedia systems in the automotive industry and its manufacturing optimization, which would later be used for the Tesla Model 5, BMW, and Audi. Vince Gaydarzhiev soon after went on to lead the hardware prototype engineering team for the iPad and iPhone at Apple, where he was involved in the early development of FaceID.
