With an academic research background and deep expertise in computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security, software, and IT project management, Thomas Dillig is the co-founder of Blu Sphinx, a technology venture supported by the National Science Foundation to develop a new breed of ERP for small and medium-sized businesses. Since 2005, Thomas has applied his expertise and years of experience and academic research towards helping businesses leverage technology to improve outcomes. He believes that the cutting-edge technology once reserved and affordable for large enterprises can be applied to create affordable, impactful solutions for all levels of businesses and organizations.

Thomas started his career in academia as a professor in computer science, focusing his research on AI and computer security, at the College of William & Mary, University College London, and The University of Texas at Austin. While writing papers and presenting results at scientific conferences across the world, he recognized a significant gap exists between state-of-the-art research and real-world companies, especially outside of the high tech and start-up sector.

Thomas’ epiphany led to his partnership in 2015 with Aurelie Mei-Hoa Beaumel, when they created a consulting firm, BIG EXPERTS, to help large business, military, and academic organizations address challenges associated with leveraging new software technology and data. Five years later, this exciting new focus led to Thomas and Aurelie co-founding Blu Sphinx, where they are leveraging the power of AI to create a powerful ERP platform that even small businesses can afford and achieve dramatic outcomes.

At Stanford University, Thomas earned Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees, all with honors in the field of computer science.
