Teal Heath is the Founder and Principal of Equinox Healthcare IT, Inc. (Equinox HIT®), a leading executive-level healthcare IT consulting firm specializing in information and communication technology (ICT) for healthcare construction.
With over 20 years of clinical, operational, business, and technical expertise, Teal Heath is a highly accomplished leader in healthcare IT. She holds various certifications, including Registered Nurse (RN), Six Sigma Green Belt, Program and Portfolio Management Mastery, and Project Management Professional (PMP). Teal’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, a Master of Computer Resources and Information Management degree, and she is a distinguished Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Teal is also the Board Chair of The Independence Center, a Colorado Springs, CO organization that serves people with disabilities.
Teal’s previous positions include Vice President of the corporate Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), Director of the IT Project Management Office (PMO) and Business Process Office (BPO), and Program Director of Healthcare IT Construction for Centura Health in Colorado. She also served as Adjunct Faculty at Colorado Technical University, teaching undergraduate and graduate-level students in healthcare, IT, and project management.
Teal’s innovative approach and expertise have positioned Equinox HIT, an SBA-certified women-owned small business (WOSB), as a leading change agent in implementing technology in healthcare construction. She built the company from the ground up, establishing a modern vision and leading her team of expert advisors to success. As a servant leader, Teal Heath prioritizes the growth and development of her team, providing them with opportunities and assets to enhance their careers while emphasizing work-life harmony to prevent burnout and maintain high job satisfaction.
In her role as Principal, Teal Heath is responsible for Equinox HIT’s overall leadership, direction, and strategy. She ensures the company’s services drive real-world value by guiding healthcare IT departments in large construction projects. Teal proactively identifies digital transformation opportunities, focusing on simplification and stability while addressing the unique complexities of the construction environment. In addition, she brings resilience and reliability to Equinox HIT’s integrated platform, Solstice KEY®, by applying lessons learned from each project she leads. Teal also plays a crucial role in building partnerships with healthcare organizations and construction project partners to maintain Equinox HIT’s position as a leading healthcare IT consulting firm.
Teal’s primary accomplishments include her leadership on various high-profile projects in complex and highly-regulatory environments. Teal’s achievements and knowledge have earned her recognition in the industry. She shared the stage with a panel of top-tier experts from the Loma Linda University Health Dennis and Carol Troesh Campus Transformation Project at the 2022 Healthcare Design Conference and Expo and made a guest appearance on the Transition Tea Podcast, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. Teal Heath’s exceptional leadership, remarkable achievements, and progressive mindset have solidified her position as an exemplary leader in healthcare IT.
