Sebastian Scott is the Co-Founder and CEO of Clera, an AI-powered talent platform rethinking how professionals connect with career opportunities. He leads the company’s strategy, fundraising and go-to-market efforts, having grown Clera to more than 60,000 represented professionals and over 500 startup clients in under a year. He personally onboarded the company’s first 100+ startup clients and developed a success-fee model. He also led Clera’s $3 million pre-seed round, backed by 1984 Ventures, Deel Ventures and angels from companies including OpenAI, LinkedIn, and more.
As a leader in the industry, Sebastian has consistently focused on solving one core problem: matching the right people to the right opportunities using increasingly powerful technology. He founded his first company at 17, later building an on-demand tutoring platform that scaled to more than 15,000 users. He has also developed AI agent systems for German manufacturers seeking automation solutions. Sebastian studied at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Columbia University and Tsinghua University. Sebastian is half British and half German. He was born in Singapore and is now based in San Francisco.
