DJ. Rutherford is a visionary with a broad business background that is filled with entrepreneurial successes. With business roots in business, and finance, As an entrepreneur Mr. Rutherford is known for increasing shareholder value in emerging growth companies; identifying and monetizing market opportunities. From sales manager to entrepreneur, Mr. Rutherford handed in his resignation from a six figure position at Conseco finance to start his own business.
At age 27 DJ Rutherford realized a seven figure income his first year as an entrepreneur and hasn’t looked back. From wholesaling real-estate, to new home construction and ultimately being an instrumental component to his first economic development transaction in 2004.
In 2008 the Great Recession went friendly to African American businesses in Cleveland Ohio which brought unfavorable conditions upon Mr Rutherford forcing him to start over and rebuild. With renewed focus and sense of resilience Mr. Rutherford partnered with a toy company and strategically increased revenue by 450%.
He also sold the company’s excess capacities to generate additional an $600k annually. In 2011 DJ Rutherford lead his team to acquire a public company and participated in his first OTC reverse merger and secured $25M in commitments. With substantial financial & operational leadership, he has been able to create and interface with company boards and executives.
As President of several start ups he has led teams that:
- Delivered over $140 million in revenue and contracts, and turned around 4 underperforming B2B & B2C businesses in various industries.
- In 2014 Mr. Rutherford started his first behavioral health facility and grew 12 to 75 beds, vertically integrated with a urinalysis lab and surgical center. In 2019 he realized his first successful exit.
DJ Rutherford sold to a competitor for a favorable multiple. Mr. Rutherford with his entrepreneurial leadership skills entered into a partnership with Kevin Harrington selling products through integration deals on various platforms and exited his second deal as his first roll up.
