Brett Waikart is the CEO and Co-founder of Skillfully, a Public Benefit Corporation that’s on a mission to build a fairer and more inclusive future of work. The Skillfully platform generates customizable virtual simulations that help employers see applicants’ skills in action during the hiring process, letting them look past traditional resumes to see real applicant skills in action and spend more time with great talent.
By leveraging skills data instead of traditional resumes, Skillfully aims to transform the job market, removing social biases and leveling the playing field for all applicants. This method has the potential to revolutionize talent identification and development, opening doors to incredible opportunities for a broader range of driven job seekers.
Prior to Skillfully, Brett founded and led Portfolios with Purpose, an edtech non-profit organization that expanded access to financial literacy education. At Portfolios with Purpose, he pioneered the use of realistic virtual simulations to help young students develop essential financial and investment literacy skills. The platform’s success attracted the attention of major employers, leading to the creation of Skillfully as a for-profit Public Benefit Corporation to continue this impactful work.
Brett resides in San Francisco and enjoys an active lifestyle. With a background in finance, he earned his MBA from UC Berkeley. On weekends, you can often find him surfing, sailing, or skiing.
