Dr. Arash Bereliani, MD, MS, FACC, is a board-certified cardiologist on a mission to change how medicine sees women’s hearts.
Board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine, Dr. Bereliani serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and is on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is the Medical Director of the Beverly Hills Institute for Cardiology and Preventive Medicine, where he has spent more than 28 years focused on preventive cardiology, early detection, and highly individualized care.
He earned his medical degree from Finch University of Health Sciences, graduating first in his class and earning induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
His focus on women’s heart health became deeply personal after his wife’s mother collapsed and died suddenly at 67, with no recognized warning signs. That loss, along with heart disease in his own family, reshaped his practice and led to his book, What About Her Heart? How a Male-Modeled Medical System Is Putting Women’s Hearts at Risk (Venture Media, 2026). Heart disease is the number one cause of death in women, yet most research and diagnostic standards were built around male patients. Dr. Bereliani’s work brings attention to the symptoms women are told to ignore, the “normal” test results that miss real risk, and the steps every woman can take to protect her heart, through pregnancy, menopause, and beyond.
He also speaks on what chronic stress does to the heart and the warning signs high-performing professionals tend to miss.
