Aidan McCarty is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Verified, a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, and a Stanford dropout who walked away from the pre-med track after realizing that software could scale to billions of people in a way practicing medicine rarely can match — a bet that has since paid off. Aidan has been building with his brother Liam since 2016. Their first product, Be Heard, featured in the Skimm and Pod Save America, helped ordinary people send official messages to their elected representatives — and it taught them the lesson that would define their careers: the platform was flooded with fraud from fake and stolen identities. The internet, they realized, has no idea who anyone actually is.
In 2020, the brothers started Verified to fix that. They joke that Verified is Stripe for identity — and not just because it was founded by two Irish brothers. The timing turned out to be prophetic. Beyond Verified, Aidan is an active angel investor and advisor to startups like Frich and Silo Markets, has spoken at TechCrunch Disrupt, Authenticate, Boston FinTech Week, LA Blockchain Summit, Crypto World Economic Forum, and MIT’s delta v incubator, and has guest-lectured on entrepreneurship at Stanford, Northeastern, and Mills College.
