Roland Austrup serves as Chief Growth Officer and member of the Executive Committee at Innventure (NASDAQ: INV), an Industrial Growth Conglomerate that creates and operates standalone companies from breakthrough technology solutions developed by multinational corporations. Since joining Innventure’s leadership in 2021, Roland has held multiple strategic roles including Chief Financial Officer and Head of Capital Markets, bringing decades of financial expertise to the company’s unique model of commercializing validated R&D.
Beyond Innventure, Roland is Chairman of WaveFront Global Asset Management Corp., a Toronto-based global hedge fund company with $1.7 billion in assets under management that he co-founded in 2003. He also co-founded Envest Corp., a downstream energy company, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Master of Quantitative Finance program at the University of Waterloo and First Tracks Capital, a Canadian private equity firm.
Roland’s career began in commodities brokerage at Scotia McLeod Inc., where he specialized in hedging commodity price risk for corporate clients, followed by a role as Investment Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. His extensive background in capital allocation and risk management now informs Innventure’s approach to building operating companies rather than making traditional investments.
Roland holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Western Ontario.
