Britney Hommertzheim is a highly accomplished professional in the field of cybersecurity, with a career that began in the US Army, where she spent the first decade honing her leadership and technical skills. Early on, she led a team of 20, and as her career advanced, she was responsible for managing over 90 team leads. Her work took her across the globe, assessing the network security of military, police, and governmental partners. These experiences gave her a strong foundation in security strategy, risk assessment, and international collaboration.
Currently, Britney serves as the head of the Information Security Department for AMC Theatres, where she oversees the development and implementation of global security strategies. She is responsible for managing security personnel and ensuring that critical security concerns are addressed at the executive level. Her leadership has been instrumental in ensuring the protection of AMC’s global network and information assets.
Britney’s credentials are impressive, with certifications that include CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), PMP (Project Management Professional), and CompTIA Security+ among others. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied & Discrete Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity, further reinforcing her technical expertise.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Britney has been actively involved in the security community. She served as an officer and Board of Directors member for the (ISC)² Kansas City Chapter, advises at multiple security conferences, and is the founder of Women in Security – Kansas City (WiS-KC) and the EmergeIT Executive Leadership group. Her contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including being recognized as a Rising Trendsetter for Technology by the Kansas City Central Exchange and an IT Security Power Player by SC Magazine.
